February Mini-Update

Lol, a few days ago, I think on Monday, the "Mahjong LG" met at Vivo to celebrate Jiusuo's birthday at Toastbox before heading to Dewen's house for the penultimate showdown (actually just a round of mahjong...). Before Dewen and Huiying arrived, we (Jeremy, small Gwen and I) were looking at cakes at Breadtalk, just next to Toastbox. When we decided, I looked up, saw a salesgirl arranging some cans of drink just off to the side, caught her eye, then smiled and gave a slight nod with the sole intention of conveying that we had decided what we wanted and wanted her to come and take the cake out for us. Obviously getting the wrong impression, she smiled straight back and continued doing what she was doing. I was flabbergasted, hahaha! To compound matters, when Jem hailed her with a polite "excuse me", she jerked around and looked straight at me for a split second before realising that I wasn't the one addressing her. Of course, being the shy person that I am, I started scrutinizing the floor and other surroundings with obvious intensity. Fail. LOL! It wasn't the first time this happened, there were other instances too but I'm always surprised and rather embarrassed when it happens...

The strength of MinOps is currently 2 fewer. Simon's gone to Sydney to get a degree in medical studies, and Huiying's gone to Shanghai for study purposes as well. They left earlier this week, both at insane early hours. I stayed at the airport overnight for both, which further screwed up my already severely malfunctioning internal time machine. The hour at which I'm typing this (it's 4.15am now...) should be evidence enough for that. -.-" Pray that those 2 will cope really well, have lots of fun, and learn a heck of a lot about God and themselves while they're there... I'll really miss Simon in LG - a person with a screwy sense of humour like him is always welcome hahaha! But of course he brought far more than just that (I'm just too fagged out to type it here). I'll miss Huiying as a supper buddy and mahjong kaki. Produced a lot of random whimsical jokes at games, though she still can't beat Huiyang's ultimate zha4 hu2 combo - 5 bamboo, 6 bamboo... 7 BALLS ROFLMAO. Ok forgive newbies. ^^ I repent for taking simple pleasure in the simple hilarity of it. =D

I think I'm improving in bass playing, and also discipling Deng. After a few months of rapid improvement in picking up a new instrument, people don't notice that you're improving any more, so you have really got to know what you're doing if you want to improve. Thank God for the musical background I've got, else I might've had a heck of a struggle being thrown into the deep end of playing bass on stage without much skill in the first place.

On a last note, renovation on my new house started 3 weeks ago. There's a good chance of it being completed in 2 months or less and I'm really excited! Already chosen bathroom fittings and some materials for my room. Can't wait to see it, and I'm not the only one eh, friends? Regarding the jamming room - I need to save up for cables, a keyboard, and loudspeakers. Yamaha Clementi has a sale from 26th to 29th Feb and the MM6 synth is going for what, 550 bucks? Thinking really hard whether I should go for it...

Anyway, pretty tired now, the bed monster's calling and there's no reason for staying up further. ^^ Au revoir then~
