So much has happened in a little over 2 months! Hope Conference was a really really tiring experience for me. I felt really stretched, and I DIDN'T like it one bit lol! But I wasn't playing for the last slot, Geoffrey did, and it was a really incredible experience? I still remember the basin and towel prophetic tongue vision that was shared and it spoke to me immensely. I guess that, and Yao's subsequent sharing after the whole shebang, changed my view on serving so hard some. It means that I'm doing something right for God!
Still on the topic of music, I recently performed with The Bridge (Shan, Jason, Joel, Kai, and Anson, our stand-in drummer) for the F1 Rev-up event along Orchard Road. It reminded me once again why I dislike playing outdoors so! I felt so hot that it was hard to play properly. But at least I wasn't raining perspiration - Kai was! Good thing we had one or two chill songs to be able to cool down and 'feel' it a bit more! Song list was pretty cool! Runaway (Jamiroquai), Rocketeer, All Because of You (Raul Midon), Price Tag, and September. Good mix, though not exactly high energy. More groovy than anything else. Good experience, though I wasn't looking around too much? The lights in my eyes were legendary bright man! Though I think it was partly 'cause I didn't want to feel nervous... =P
Recently finished my attachment at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. It was the first time that I've actually worked, and even though it wasn't a paid attachment, I think I was paid in terms of work experience. Was an eye-opener really, to see things that I've learnt in school applied in real life, especially for the power, strength, and performance (PSP) patients. The Sports Medicine department at KK is really versatile! Another thing is that this attachment altered my perspective towards kids some. I don't detest kids as much as I did before I started, but what really struck a chord in my heart was how I began to see the importance of bringing a child up properly - to be able to speak well and communicate well without being either too overbearing or too shy, to be able to have good motor skills and be fit, and to know when to be serious and when to have fun. Emailing my lecturer in Perth to see what needs to be submitted through school! What comes after this phase is anyone's guess. God will open and close the doors as He deems fit.
It's been a good week so far. Been hanging out with friends and I really enjoy the company. Sometimes, you have to learn things the hard way before you know what's good for you? Or rather, what's better. Sometimes, the lesser option (there IS actually a use for the word 'lesser'!) may be satisfactory, but life mayn't be lived as fully as if you were to take the high road. Too enigmatic. Bah! Anyway I've had a couple of chill days with Fongs and Mel. They went shopping on Tuesday (without results =P) and we went to Gelatissimo at Shaw to find dessert (and Joan) after dinner. Thanks for the gelato Joan! And yesterday, we went to Pulau Ubin to cycle and feed the mozzies. Well I fed some, but they did most of it lol! We weren't able to see the quarry I wanted to look at, courtesy of bad bikes, but it was more than fun enough anyway. =) I think that days like these will become rather rare in future - glad I get to enjoy them now! ^^
Be off now, been thinking long and hard about getting a new gig bag for my bass. Getting rather annoyed with people asking whether that's a keyboard.Well actually it's the bulk of the dratted thing that's turning my head. Hence the need to check out some prices. Fusion or Mono? Till the next update, au revoir! =)
