This is going to be a relatively short post, it's not been the most happening Christmas!
It's been a really chill kinda Christmas this year. If it'd been a big musical at church, things would've been different, been it turned out different I guess. Just a medley to liven things up at the beginning of service, after a dance. Simple? Sounds like it, but the songs weren't easy, they were jazzy carols, but I really enjoyed playing them (wow, music with a 'feel' for once!). And of course, the major detail was that the Youth music team played for all four services on Saturday (24th August), after which my legs felt like jelly and my head felt like lead. Wouldn't have passed it up for the world! =D We slipped up loads, I tell you, but irregardless of how well we played, God used us to bless the congregation and as long as I'm sure I gave my best, hey, that's all I care about! ^^
I just came back an hour or so ago from Joel's condominium where the remaining people of MinOps Worship were having a sort of Christmas/New Year party (some of the team're away in Hong Kong or Taiwan) and I kind of enjoyed myself. I admit that I wasn't very sociable when the rest were playing Wii or Spades/Bridge (I was on my iPad playing Singapore Mahjong lol!), but I enjoyed the company throughout the day and the event. I think that the two bottles of Gran Castillo Dessert Wine I got from deal.com.sg found it's rightful life purpose - it was served as a toast to Yao's speech, and pleasant it was too!
But the real thing I was grateful for however, occurred earlier on in the day. I met Mel in the afternoon, after lunch at home, to help her get a gift for her school friend. We met at Ben Sherman in Paragon, so I asked her a few relevant questions - his height, his build, his skin tone. She wanted to get him a dark blue checkered shirt at an eye-popping hundred and seventy bucks. And I said it might not suit him, so off we went to Uniqlo at 313. She ended up buying an inexpensive winter jacket for herself there. Subsequently, we went down to Epicentre, where I saw an iPad cover that I thought might be worth getting for myself. She said she thought it was nice too and said she'd get it for her friend. I walked off while she was paying up and browsed through iMacs (their prices don't seem so exorbitant now somehow~) and then she came up to me and said that the cover that she bought was for me. It wasn't just my eyes that popped this time, my jaw dropped too! Never been surprised in such a manner before, but I guess I'm gullible enough to fall for it. -.-" Still, I appreciate it lots because I honestly needed it but I was being a miser to myself lol!
Moving on, I decided to make the cards I write special this year. I revived an ancient hobby of mine that I have not used for many long years - drawing! I realised I still have the knack for it after all this time, and my LifeGroup people really liked the stuff I drew when I gave them their cards at Christmas LG. I enjoy drawing, but I've no time to hone it and besides, I think this is the last year that I'll be able to spend so much time on blessing people with this obscure skill of mine. Still, I've a few more cards to complete so I get to indulge and bless at the same time for a while more! ^^
That's most of what happened that I'd like to mention here. It's been a rainy Christmas, but the weather's been relatively cool and considering all things, I think it's been a cosy sort of Christmas and I've really liked it. Things to look forward to in the next two weeks, can't wait! =D
