It's been an interesting start to the year, mostly stuff to be thankful for. What, evaluate 2011, you say? In a nutshell, it was a cruise-ish sort of year, which isn't exactly good, but thankful to God that I've managed to learn a fair few things - about myself, about friendship, about music, and surprisingly, about image. Technically, I don't like to think of my life in terms of phases. I prefer to think of it as a continuum, which is much less blockish and far more flowy, if you get my meaning. However, if I were to talk about the new year, I should at least give 2011 a mention, if in brief. Now then, that's over and we can move on!
Many from MinOps were away for the new year, and it proved to be a quiet affair really. A new year holds no special significance for me, just like my birthday (why do people want to celebrate my coming into being!?). Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was grateful for being able to spend time with various random small groups of people, my LifeGroup, and individuals, though I seemed to have unwittingly consumed more food than I ought to have!
Just collected my long awaited Audere active preamp and Nordstrand pickups from Chernwei at Tanah Merah. I'm a good deal more excited than I sound (probably tired due to my regular workout, just waiting for the hair to dry up~) and I'll be taking my Carvin bass to TY Music tomorrow to get them to fix up my bass, restring, re-setup, the works. The only downside to this is that my preamp came without knobs though I'd ordered them - I'll just get it installed without the knobs first. It'd look ugly for a while, but I simply can't wait any longer! Better take before and after pictures!
Guess it's late and I should be off. Might not blog too soon again as I don't seem to have a feel for it of late. Guess we'll see how things unfold. Time for rest now, toodles! ^^
